The artificial lights emitted by your cellphones, computers and laptops triggers a reaction, tricking our body to think that it's daytime, leading to the suppression of melatonin production, a hormone which plays a role in your natural sleep-wake cycle.
Due to low melatonin production, damage to cells are at risk, being more susceptible to heart diseases, cancer, metabolic syndrome and other potentially harmful diseases.
To prevent the reduction of melatonin production, its best to dim the brightness levels of your device at an optimum level as well as the lights inside the room.

Extended periods of using your gadgets for a long time will affect your health, so make sure to avoid using your cellphones and laptops for at least 2 hours before going to bed. So when daytime approaches, you have enough sleep.
